Job summary

Pointr is seeking a Sr. R&D Engineer to advance its indoor-outdoor positioning engine used across airports, hospitals, and campuses. You will evolve the core C++ engine and native mobile layers, integrating probabilistic estimation, sensor fusion, and geometry.

Expect a senior, ownership-driven team focused on experiments, validation, and deployment to customers. You will work with iOS/Android native code, shared C++ core, and measurement setups on real devices, while contributing to tests,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with performance-sensitive production code.
• Strong grounding in probabilistic state estimation and sensor fusion, including recursive Bayesian filtering.
• Solid applied mathematics: linear algebra, probability, numerical methods, geometry.
• Experience with noisy, real-world sensor time series, regression tests, and automated validation.
• Daily use of AI coding agents and ability to review their outputs.
• Working knowledge of iOS or Android development for building and debugging on devices.

Responsibilities

• Improve accuracy, responsiveness, and robustness of positioning algorithms across venues and devices.
• Research, develop, and evaluate estimation algorithms and measure improvements on real data.
• Investigate emerging positioning technologies; work with hardware references and measurement setups.
• Develop production code in C++ engine and native mobile layers with attention to performance and tests.
• Turn field issues into reproducible test cases and engine improvements.
• Collaborate through code reviews and documentation to shape technical direction.
