Job summary

Mercer seeks a Sr. Government Health Actuary to join our Government Health Services Consulting team in Washington, DC. The role centers on managing client engagements, actuarial analyses, and Medicaid program design and pricing with senior guidance.

You will draft client reports, review pricing models, and mentor junior staff while embracing AI-enabled tools. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required; advanced credentials preferred.
• 5+ years health actuarial experience, including 3+ years Medicaid leadership actuarial experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client and project delivery under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in routine client engagements, overseeing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations and plan design.
• Draft and review client reports and presentations to summarize findings and recommendations.
• Leverage AI and pricing tools to enhance analysis and recommendations.
• Perform and review complex analyses and cost projections using established models; review junior staff work for actuarial soundness.
• Manage day-to-day client contact and project questions; guide junior staff in client interactions.
• Assist senior team in business development by identifying growth areas and responding to information requests.
