Job summary

Kraken seeks a senior Labor & Employment attorney to lead day-to-day L&E work within Payward’s in-house team, reporting to the Global Head of Labor & Employment. This fully remote role supports a global workforce and requires a US license.

Responsibilities include advising on worker classifications, compensation agreements, wage-and-hour matters, trade secrets risks, and post-closing workforce integration for acquisitions. AI-enabled workflow development is encouraged.

Qualifications

10+ years of legal experience advising in the US and other jurisdictions on Employment, Labor, and Executive Compensation issues.
Broad international Labor and Employment background and drafting experience.
Experience with due diligence in acquisitions and post-closing workforce integration.
Active US-state license or eligibility for in-house counsel status.
Hands-on proficiency with generative AI tools in day-to-day legal work, with judgment to protect confidentiality and data.
Entrepreneurial mindset to increase the company’s optionality using the law.

Responsibilities

Serve as a senior member of the Labor and Employment legal team, coordinating with Global Head of L&E.
Develop L&E practices for a growing global workforce.
Advise on worker classifications, separations, compensation agreements, wage and hour matters.
Mitigate risks related to trade secrets and restrictive covenants.
Support due diligence for M&A and workforce integration post-close.
Provide input on global workforce policies and training for managers and employees.
Advise on data privacy issues affecting employees and candidates.
Manage outside counsel on pre-litigation and local-law matters.
