Job summary

SGC Power seeks a Principal Software Engineer for GIS & Spectrum Interface, embedding with utility engineering teams to build GIS-to-Spectrum interfaces and data-processing solutions. You will design, code, test, and deploy enterprise software enabling reliable data transfer and model updates.

Strong C#/.NET, Esri GIS expertise, and SQL Server/Oracle skills are required, plus experience with ArcGIS and Spectrum-related systems. Travel and remote work may occur within project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, GIS, or related field.
• Minimum of six years of professional software development experience; principal level possible.
• Experience with GIS technologies and relational databases.
• Electric utility industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with GIS-to-Spectrum interfaces and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise software applications.
• Develop and enhance GIS-to-Spectrum interface applications and data-processing solutions.
• Analyze requirements and translate into software solutions.
• Modernize legacy apps for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop queries and data-processing solutions using SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• Provide production support and participate in Agile/Scrum activities.
