Job summary

InCommon is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own features across the stack, from the Postgres schema and Node services to the React interface, ensuring production performance and correctness on real loans.

You will contribute end-to-end design decisions, collaborate with product and customers, and build scalable backend services on AWS with TypeScript. This role emphasizes ownership and delivering reliable software for a lending platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, with 5+ at senior level.
• Hands-on production work in full-stack TypeScript.
• Strong experience with Node.js/Express and PostgreSQL on AWS.
• Familiar with GraphQL (Apollo) and Terraform IaC.
• Proven system design with measurable scale, latency, and reliability.
• Hands-on coder who collaborates with product and customers.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features across the full stack in TypeScript.
• Design and scale backend services and data models on Postgres and AWS.
• Translate lending workflows into reliable, maintainable code.
• Maintain integrations with third-party services and APIs.
• Make design tradeoffs for throughput, latency, and failure modes.
• Operate and monitor what you build, including on-call duties.
• Work with product and customers to ship usable features.
