Job summary

Tecla is hiring a Full-Stack Engineer to join early as a key tech hire, reporting to the CTO. This remote role covers frontend, backend, databases, and infra, with a strong emphasis on scalable architecture and AI-assisted development.

You will own features end-to-end, shape engineering practices, and help drive product and tech evolution in a startup setting. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, with Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL proficiency, plus AWS

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Full-stack experience across frontend, backend, and databases.
• Experience with Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on AWS and cloud infrastructure experience.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Build, ship, and maintain features across frontend, backend, and database layers.
• Think architecturally across codebases to keep systems scalable.
• Own projects from requirements through testing, deployment, and iteration.
• Build and maintain automated tests and CI infrastructure.
• Leverage AI coding tools to improve development speed and quality.
• Contribute to infrastructure and deployment work, including cloud environments.
• Help establish engineering standards and processes as the team grows.
• Adapt quickly to evolving priorities across the product and tech stack.
