Job summary

Hadron Energy, a San Francisco Bay Area based leader in Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) technology, seeks a Senior or Principal Fluids Engineer. You will design, size, and analyze fluid systems for primary and secondary loops, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping to meet nuclear codes and safety requirements.

Based in the Bay Area or Remote, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to advance Final Design through rigorous analyses, QA processes, and clear technical documentation,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a relevant engineering field.
  • 8+ years for Senior or 12+ years for Principal in fluid design/thermal-hydraulic systems.
  • Experience designing and analyzing light water reactor fluid systems.
  • Strong knowledge of single-phase and two-phase fluid mechanics and convective heat transfer.
  • Experience with pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping networks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and analysis of fluid systems (primary/secondary/auxiliary) and sizing of components.
  • Develop P&IDs and PFDs, system descriptions, and equipment specs.
  • Perform single-phase and two-phase sizing, hydraulic loss, and NPSH studies.
  • Perform heat transfer characterization sizing studies.
  • Conduct trade studies to optimize safety, reliability, cost, and schedule.
  • Support planning to advance systems to Final Design.
  • Perform peer reviews and contribute to QA per ASME NQA-1 and procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and serve as technical contact for fluid systems.
