Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Estimator to join our fully remote team handling federal projects. The successful candidate will prepare comprehensive estimates, manage subcontractors, and collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects to deliver accurate, timely bids.

The role requires 5+ years in construction estimating, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency in estimating software and MS Office. Competitive salary and health benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in general contracting, preferably federal projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office suite.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate full project estimates from conceptual to detailed for federal construction projects.
• Manage subcontractors, including sourcing, negotiation, coordination and tracking performance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project scope and requirements.
• Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Participate in proposal presentations and client meetings.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide buy vs. build decisions.
• Conduct risk analysis and prepare contingency plans.
• Stay updated on construction methods, materials, and industry trends to keep estimates competitive.
