Jobot is seeking a Senior Estimator to take charge of federal project estimates in a fully remote capacity. You will drive comprehensive cost estimates, manage subcontractors, and collaborate with PMs, engineers, and architects to define project scope and requirements.

The role emphasizes evaluating drawings and specs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and delivering precise estimates under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in construction estimating, preferably with federal projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate full project estimates for federal construction projects.
• Manage subcontractors: sourcing, negotiation, coordination, and tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand scope and requirements.
• Analyze drawings, specs, proposals, and other docs to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Evaluate and present cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Participate in proposal presentations and client meetings.
• Review material and labor requirements to decide make vs buy decisions.
• Conduct risk analysis and prepare contingency plans.
• Keep up-to-date with construction methods, materials, and trends to keep estimates current.
