Job summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an experienced Contract Specialist SME to support critical United States Space Force (USSF) and DoD missions in a remote capacity.

In this role, you will provide senior-level acquisition and contracting expertise across the procurement life cycle, coordinating with SSC/CMK, COMSO, and program offices; strong FAR/DFARS knowledge is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance required.
• 10+ years government contracting, including 5+ years as warranted CO with $5M authority; DoD warrant preferred.
• 1+ year supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of FAR and DFARS.
• Experience coordinating with DCAA/DCMA and industry partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level acquisition and contracting expertise to SSC/CMK across pre-award and post-award actions.
• Advise Contracting Officers on planning, solicitations, negotiations, awards, and administration.
• Lead source selection activities and develop acquisition strategy.
• Prepare and coordinate contracting deliverables and determinations.
• Guide stakeholders on strategies and contracting matters.
• Coordinate with government offices and industry partners to ensure compliant outcomes.
• Serve as Acting Team Lead and mentor staff.
• Support acquisition of commercial products/services for USSF and DoD.
