Job summary

Latigo Biotherapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Scientific Communications to lead strategic publication planning and scientific storytelling across its clinical-stage pain programs.

You will translate emerging clinical evidence into clear communications for healthcare professionals and opinion leaders, while guiding manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations. Remote role with 20–30% travel and close partnership with Medical Affairs and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years in pharma/biotech with Scientific Communications, Publications or Medical Affairs.
• Experience developing global publication strategies and supporting late-stage development or launch.
• Proven track record of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and congress presentations.
• Experience working with external authors, publication agencies, and medical writing partners.
• Desirable expertise in pain, neuroscience, or related areas.
• Strong publication standards knowledge and writing, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Scientific Communications strategy across Latigo's portfolio.
• Develop and maintain the scientific narrative and communication platforms.
• Oversee publication planning and execution (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, talks).
• Shape congress strategy and data dissemination across key meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize opportunities and gaps.
• Develop scientific materials including decks, FAQs, and medical content.
• Ensure accuracy, balance, and compliance with standards.
• Manage external medical writers and agencies, timelines and budgets.
• Support pre-launch and launch readiness with scientific communications and training materials.
• Provide leadership to build Medical Affairs capabilities.
