Job summary

Warfighter AI, LLC seeks a Senior Director of Engineering to steer the WarDrive data platform for U.S. DoD and IC customers. You will set architecture, lead Agile delivery, and mentor engineers and data scientists, ensuring secure, scalable production systems across cross-domain environments.

The role requires 10+ years in data roles, advanced degree, and proven leadership in government-focused programs. Remote within the U.S. with DC area proximity preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, and data science.
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Experience leading teams of data scientists and data engineers, including hiring and mentoring.
• Hands-on Scrum and Agile practice: sprint planning, retrospectives, and delivery.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale streaming and batch pipelines on AWS, Databricks, Spark.
• Experience delivering software to U.S. government, defense, or intelligence customers.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the engineering organization across data acquisition, fusion, modeling, and delivery.
• Act as the technical champion for the team, leading scrum ceremonies and Agile development practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers, data engineers, and data scientists with clear career paths.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard engineering talent and foster a culture of ownership and technical excellence.
• Partner with product leadership to translate requirements into roadmaps and designs.
• Own the architecture for cross-domain delivery to IL5 and classified networks.
• Guide probabilistic multi-source fusion and geo-temporal analytics with defensible confidence.
• Drive data modeling and ontology design for downstream platforms like Palantir Foundry.
• Establish DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, containerization, and IaC for repeatable deployments.
• Oversee petabyte-scale pipelines, analytics tooling, and observability metrics.
