Job summary

Hims & Hers is seeking a Sr. Director of Machine Learning to lead teams building AI services at the core of the user experience. You will own applied AI initiatives, from problem framing to production, and will grow ML engineers and ML production engineers in a fast-paced, healthcare-focused environment.

You will shape technical direction for foundation and custom models, ensure safety and measurable impact, and partner with product, security, and compliance to deliver trusted AI solutions.

Qualifications

• 14+ years in machine learning and software engineering.
• Proven track record shipping ML-powered products at scale.
• Deep understanding of LLM application development and evaluation.
• Experience with healthcare or regulated domains is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow ML teams building end-to-end AI services.
• Define strategy for frontier LLMs, prompt design, and retrieval workflows.
• Oversee productionization: SLOs, latency, cost, and reliability.
