Job summary

Keeper Security is seeking a Senior Detection Engineer to advance detection engineering, SIEM operations, and security telemetry in a cloud-native environment. This is a 100% remote role with a potential hybrid schedule for candidates in El Dorado Hills, CA or Chicago, IL.

You will partner with Security Operations, Infrastructure, SRE, and Engineering to ensure logs, metrics, traces, and signals are actionable and scalable, turning security data into operational value in a fast-growing security

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years in detection or security engineering or observability.
• Hands-on with SIEM analytics or observability platforms (Datadog, SentinelOne, Splunk, etc.).
• Experience building, tuning detection rules and alerting workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain detection and telemetry across Datadog, SentinelOne, and Wiz.
• Develop, test, and tune high-fidelity detection rules for real-world scenarios.
• Improve alert quality by reducing false positives and noise.
• Enforce logging, telemetry, and instrumentation standards across cloud, apps, and identities.
• Build and optimize log ingestion, parsing, normalization, enrichment, and retention.
• Automate onboarding of new data sources and expand telemetry coverage.
• Correlate signals across SIEM, EDR, cloud, and security tooling for depth.
• Partner with Security Operations to improve triage and incident response.
• Create dashboards and reports to support decision-making across teams.
• Map coverage to MITRE ATT&CK and identify visibility gaps.
