Job summary

Contech is seeking a Sr. Design Engineer to lead structural design and analysis of precast concrete structures, with remote work flexibility. You will manage submissions, project coordination, and customer engagement while ensuring code compliance and quality.

Travel to Salt Lake City, UT and Caldwell, ID is expected. Ideal candidates hold a PE, 5+ years in precast/steel design, and proficiency in AutoCAD, RISA-3D, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in precast concrete, reinforced concrete, and steel design; prestressed/precast experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer registration and ability to obtain in multiple states.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MathCAD, Concise, RISA-3D; familiarity with finite element analysis.
• IBC, ASCE7, ACI318, PCI, AISC, AWS codes and specifications knowledge.
• Strong communication, analytical, and proactive problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design, submissions, and project management for precast projects and connections.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and address non-conformances.
• Perform analysis and design of precast structures and components to code.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering consulting firms, counties, and cities as needed.
• Support safety, quality, and environmental compliance programs.
