Job summary

Ellipsis Health is seeking an experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to build, scale, and optimize modern data platforms across public clouds. The role supports analytics, ML Ops, and BI, with strong collaboration across DS, ML, App, and DevOps teams.

You will architect data warehousing with Databricks/Dbt/Spark, develop ETL pipelines, and ensure security and governance in GCP/AWS. Remote work anywhere in the US is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing and building large-scale data platforms.
• Strong SQL, data modeling and data warehousing expertise.
• Python for data pipelines and services.
• Deep experience with Apache Spark and distributed processing.
• Hands-on with ETL/orchestration frameworks like Airflow, dbt.
• Knowledge of BI tools: Sigma, Metabase, Tableau, Looker.
• Cloud experience in GCP and AWS; CI/CD pipelines with GitLab/GitHub.
• Familiar with Kubernetes, Terraform, Pubsub, Debezium.
• Understanding of data governance, privacy and HIPAA/SOC-2/HITRUST.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and operation of scalable data platform for analytics and ML Ops.
• Collaborate with DS, ML, App, and DevOps teams to implement end-to-end ML Ops pipelines.
• Architect and manage data warehousing using Databricks, Dbt, Spark.
• Develop and maintain ETL/data pipelines across diverse sources.
• Optimize storage and processing for cost-efficiency in GCP/AWS.
• Build dashboards using Sigma, Metabase, and other BI tools.
• Ensure data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate anonymization and security solutions for sensitive data.
• Guide evolution of data platform to support growth and needs.
• Design infrastructure for LLM training, fine-tuning, and inference, and LLM serving platforms.
