Job summary

NinjaTrader, a futures-focused brokerage and trading platform, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data & Analytics team. You will design and operate a modern data platform powering analytics, trading tools, and ML initiatives.

This remote-friendly role emphasizes scalable pipelines, real-time data, observability, and collaboration with product and ML engineers in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or backend development.
• Strong SQL and Python skills for building data solutions.
• Hands-on with GCP data products (BigQuery, CloudSQL, Cloud Storage).
• Experience with AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Kinesis); EMR is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/GitOps).
• Hands-on dbt experience building and maintaining dbt projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and data lake architecture for batch and real-time use cases.
• Improve observability, alerting, and SLOs across data systems.
• Optimize ETL/ELT workflows for performance and fault tolerance.
• Develop dbt workflows for onboarding partners and end-of-day reporting.
• Build and support event-driven architectures and scalable platform components.
• Contribute to orchestration and automation of workflows.
• Integrate complex financial APIs and third-party data sources.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and ML engineers to deploy data products.
• Work on feature pipelines and model-ready data for ML teams.
• Promote code quality, testing, and platform reliability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and foster growth-oriented culture.
