Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a Remote Data Engineer to design, build, test, and support enterprise data ingestion pipelines. This senior role requires independent work, comfort with ambiguity, and ownership from source analysis through production support.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Kafka, AWS (including Lambda), Python, and Snowflake, and can collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong software development and data engineering fundamentals.
• Experience designing and developing data ingestion pipelines.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and Snowflake.
• Kafka experience is required.
• Knowledge of data modeling, schemas and source-to-target mappings.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and handle ambiguity.
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources.
• Analyze source systems, schemas, and DDL to map source-to-target data.
• Build ingestion solutions for Kafka, relational databases, mainframe, and flat files.
• Implement data pipelines in AWS and Snowflake environments.
• Perform QA/QC, including data validation and testing across the lifecycle.
• Develop data integration processes using enterprise ETL/replication tools.
• Collaborate with business users, technical teams, and leadership to gather requirements.
• Follow Git, CI/CD, and collaborative development practices.
• Support data initiatives related to AI and analytics; troubleshoot pipelines.
