Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related fields.
• Production-quality ETL/ELT pipelines design and maintenance.
• Strong data modeling for analytics and operational use cases.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale distributed processing (Spark).
• Strong SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java).
• Experience with workflow orchestration/ETL scheduling (Airflow).
• Experience with structured and third-party data sources and reconciliations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Sound judgment on data quality, ownership, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines for AirCover products and operations.
• Develop analytics-ready data models and metrics for executive reporting and workflows.
• Partner with engineers and external data stakeholders to translate feeds into trustworthy datasets.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, accuracy, and documentation across assets.
• Improve reliability, maintainability, and observability of pipelines with strong testing and standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Analytics, and Data Science to define data needs.
• Contribute to Airbnb's data engineering community by influencing tooling and best practices.
• Raise the bar for foundational data systems scalable to new markets and regulatory needs.
