Job summary

First Citizens is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Platform Engineering Organization. You will build scalable cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL to enable analytics and data-driven decision-making.

You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to deliver data products, govern data quality, and optimize data pipelines at enterprise scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related technology disciplines.
• OR
• High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related technology disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Data Architecture and Strategy - design scalable data architectures aligned with business objectives.
• Advanced Data Pipeline Development - architect and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines.
• Data Governance and Quality Management - implement governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance.
• Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting - analyze and optimize large-scale data operations.
• Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing - guide junior engineers and promote best practices.
