Job summary

Trility Consulting seeks an experienced Senior Data Consultant to support a client engagement focused on modernizing an existing Azure Synapse data platform and migrating prioritized workloads to Microsoft Fabric. You’ll partner with client engineers to refine Fabric architecture, build reusable ingestion frameworks, and migrate data workloads into a modern lakehouse environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Services, including Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Synapse.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience in production environments.
• Strong experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable data ingestion frameworks.
• Designing and implementing a metadata-driven ingestion framework with configuration-based onboarding.
• Experience developing Spark notebooks and data transformation workflows with PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Strong SQL skills, including T-SQL, for transformation and performance tuning.
• Experience with medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Git-based CI/CD using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code for AI-assisted development.
• Data migration validation, quality assurance, and data governance concepts.
• Experience integrating data from REST APIs and relational/structured sources.
• Collaborative, client-facing communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and refine the existing Microsoft Fabric architecture, including metadata structures and ingestion patterns.
• Design and implement a metadata-driven ingestion framework enabling configuration-based onboarding.
• Migrate prioritized data sources and workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop and orchestrate Fabric data pipelines and Spark notebooks using PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Analyze existing Synapse pipelines to understand dependencies and translate logic to Fabric.
• Build data validation and reconciliation processes to verify migration accuracy.
• Implement Git-based CI/CD and environment promotion for Fabric artifacts.
• Leverage Claude Code to define specifications, accelerate development, and review AI-generated code.
• Evaluate data dictionary, metadata, and lineage requirements, including catalog solutions.
• Collaborate with client engineers to establish sustainable engineering standards.
• Apply data engineering best practices for performance, testing, monitoring, security, and ops.
