Job summary

The Guttmacher Institute seeks a Senior Data Analyst, Research and Advocacy to integrate quantitative analysis with policy expertise for its international programs. You will collaborate with scientists, policy colleagues, and partners to advance AIU research, connecting analytical outputs to policy questions and country programs.

You will lead data analysis using DHS/MICS/PMA datasets, develop reproducible code, and contribute to policy briefs and country analyses.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of international SRHR or global health research experience with a record of analytical outputs.
• Knowledge of SRHR policy, data systems, and advocacy environments at country/regional/global levels.
• Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis using Stata and/or R; experience with large-scale survey data (DHS, MICS, PMA) is required.
• Experience bridging quantitative research and policy engagement for non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing partnerships with country- or regional-level organizations, governments, or multilateral bodies.
• Strong writing and oral communication skills across formats and audiences.
• Ability to lead multi-stakeholder projects in cross-cultural contexts; independence in work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee annual AIU data update cycles with the AIU program and partners.
• Manage data analysis activities using large-scale survey data and develop analytic code/documentation in Stata and/or R.
• Design and interpret research applying policy knowledge to produce policy-relevant outputs.
• Contribute to SRH indicators, measurement frameworks, and methodological innovations.
• Lead authoring of peer-reviewed publications, policy reports, and technical documents; review others’ work.
