Job summary

LA Times Studios LLC seeks a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the organization's cybersecurity infrastructure protecting publishing platforms, newsroom systems, and enterprise data.

The role leads security initiatives, drives controls implementation, and supports the overall cybersecurity strategy while collaborating with IT, Engineering, Product, and business teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with policy and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, Engineering or related field; 8+ years in cybersecurity roles OR 10+ years experience.
• Experience implementing and managing enterprise security technologies.
• Experience leading complex security initiatives and incident response efforts.
• Knowledge of network/cloud/endpoint security and security architecture principles.
• Familiarity with SIEM/EDR/vulnerability management and security monitoring platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Lead development and enhancement of security architecture aligned with business objectives.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies, tools, and controls.
• Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into system design and development processes.
• Lead investigations of security incidents and perform advanced threat hunting.
• Develop and maintain incident response procedures and remediation strategies.
• Coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery during incidents.
• Oversee security monitoring platforms, alerts, dashboards, and response workflows.
• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and security reviews; document standards and procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote security awareness across the organization.
