Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a hands-on Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen and scale our cybersecurity practices across a growing software organization supporting mission-critical environments. You will be a key technical contributor responsible for vulnerability management, compliance initiatives, secure software development practices, and overall cybersecurity operations.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years of software engineering, infrastructure, or technology experience.
• Hands-on vulnerability assessment and remediation experience.
• Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance requirements.
• Experience with FedRAMP, NIST, RMF, ATOs, or related standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, executives, and government customers.
• Experience with cloud-hosted applications and enterprise software.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity initiatives across cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Identify, analyze, and remediate application and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support compliance efforts related to federal security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in security assessments, audits, and risk management activities.
• Help improve security processes, release management controls, and operational procedures.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend preventative measures.
• Serve as a technical resource during customer discussions and security reviews.
• Contribute to incident response, vulnerability management, and security monitoring activities.
