Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive construction estimating experience, ideally including government RFPs.
• A track record of successful bids across multi-family, residential, and commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project and comfortable using AI tools.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to earn the trust of clients and teammates.
• A confident, persuasive presence – comfortable walking stakeholders through the numbers.
• Ability to work independently while meeting key deliverables across multiple bids and deadlines.
• Patience and flexibility for the detail-heavy, paperwork-intensive nature of government bidding.

Responsibilities

• Building complete, accurate cost estimates for multi-family, residential, and commercial projects, from quantity takeoffs through final bid packages.
• Responding to RFPs and preparing bid packages, including opportunities at the city, county, and local level.
• Building rapport with stakeholders - representing the company in person and virtually during bid Q&A sessions and estimate presentations.
• Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor pricing to support well-rounded, competitive bids.
• Reviewing plans, specifications, and scopes of work to identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Partnering with project managers and leadership to develop and refine project budgets.
• Using AI tools to sharpen your estimates and bid materials.
• Jumping in wherever needed to help the business move forward, including business development.
