Job summary

WAHVE is seeking a seasoned Commercial Surety Bond Underwriter to work from home in a long-term remote role. You can choose full or part-time schedules with company benefits.

Responsibilities include evaluating financial condition and credit history of accounts, making underwriting decisions on risk and pricing, rating bonds for premium accuracy, and managing a portfolio while developing relationships with producers and reinsurers. AFSB is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience.
• 10 most recent years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty underwriting experience with the current concentration in the Surety Bond sector.
• AFSB designation is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate financial condition, experience, credit history and character of contract accounts.
• Make underwriting decisions on risk acceptability and pricing.
• Rate and review bonds for premium and classification accuracy.
• Manage a portfolio of new and renewal business with focus on book management.
• Develop relationships with producers, brokers and reinsurers.
• Maintain file documentation according to guidelines.
• Achieve underwriting profit levels within assigned book.
