Job summary

WAHVE is seeking an experienced insurance professional to work from home as a Commercial Surety Bond Underwriter. The position offers full or part-time schedules, enabling you to apply your extensive underwriting expertise from a remote setting while delivering high-quality client service.

Candidates should have 25 years of full-time work experience and 10+ years in Commercial Lines P&C underwriting with a current concentration in the Surety Bond sector.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience.
• 10 most recent years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty underwriting experience with the current concentration in the Surety Bond sector.

Responsibilities

• Utilize solid understanding of financial principles to evaluate financial condition, credit history and character of contract accounts.
• Make critical underwriting decisions on risk acceptability and pricing.
• Rate and review bonds for premium and classification accuracy.
• Manage a portfolio of new and renewal business with focus on book management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers, brokers, and reinsurers.
• Maintain accurate file documentation per company guidelines.
• Achieve underwriting profit levels within assigned book of business.
• AFSB designation is a plus (not required).
