Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Security Architect to lead the architecture of public, private, and hybrid clouds, delivering secure, scalable infrastructure and applications aligned with business and cybersecurity strategies.

You will mentor junior staff, refine playbooks, and influence enterprise security through IaC, incident response, and collaboration with IT and development leaders, while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Architect and articulate a scalable secure cloud vision.
• Advise Cloud team on secure deployments.
• Review architecture plans with Enterprise Architecture.
• Lead security architecture for SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
• Provide guidance on secure design, build, testing and deployment.
• Collaborate with security, architecture and engineering leadership.
• Enforce enterprise standards for secure, resilient solutions.
• Serve as subject matter expert and incident escalation.
• Identify risk-related issues and architect mitigations.
• Mentor junior staff.
• Create architecture policies aligned with cybersecurity best practices.
• Draft cybersecurity strategies to comply with regulations (CMMC, NIST).
• Design security for monitoring, logging, IAM, encryption, data protection.
• Ensure configurations are aligned, adopted and implemented.
• Oversee compensating controls for vulnerability management.
• Orchestrate scalable containerized microservices.
