Job summary

Datavail is seeking a Senior Database Engineer/SQL Server DBA to support mission-critical database systems for diverse clients. The role emphasizes an engineering mindset: automating tasks, embracing cloud-native platforms, and preempting issues before they become tickets.

You will serve as the Primary DBA for client engagements, combining hands-on optimization with consultative guidance on cloud architecture, migration, and cost.

Qualifications

• Senior-level SQL Server DBA with proven performance tuning.
• Strong SQL Server and Windows Server knowledge.
• Experience with cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to clients on DB performance and availability.
• Lead architecture design and DR planning for mission-critical databases.
• Own end-to-end database service lifecycle including backups and HA/DR.
• Define SLOs for database performance and automate remediation.
• Collaborate with client teams and executives to translate findings.
• Build deployment/rollback scripts and foster automation.
