Job summary

Rivell is seeking a Senior Cisco Wireless Network Engineer to design, configure, and migrate large enterprise wireless environments. The role focuses on Cisco Catalyst 9800 controllers and migrations from AireOS to 9800.

The ideal candidate has hands-on migration experience, RF engineering skills, and a track record in high-availability wireless deployments in business-critical settings. Remote with occasional onsite work in the Philadelphia region.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of enterprise networking with a wireless specialization.
• Hands-on migration experience from AireOS to Catalyst 9800.
• Experience with large-scale deployments and 24/7 production environments.
• Strong knowledge of RF design, roaming, QoS, 802.11x security, and Cisco RRM.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate Catalyst 9800 configurations before production.
• Recommend WLAN policies, profiles, VLANs, RADIUS, and QoS settings.
• Evaluate legacy AireOS and plan migration or redesign.
• Analyze RF settings: TX power, channel width, data rates, RSSI, SNR, roaming.
• Ensure reliable wireless voice and roaming behavior.
• Assist with 9800 HA SSO configuration and migrations.
• Develop migration, testing, rollback, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Minimize service disruption during large-scale migrations.
