You will influence architecture and engineering culture as the team grows. Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years in backend engineering, expertise in Node.js/TypeScript or other modern languages, and a track record in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• 5 to 7+ years of backend engineering experience building production-grade systems, APIs, or distributed services.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, or Java; Node.js/TypeScript is a strong plus.
• Experience designing scalable backend infrastructure for high-trust/regulatory environments (fintech/payments/identity).
• Production experience with relational databases (Postgres or MySQL).
• Experience with message queues or event-driven architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Experience deploying and managing applications in containerized or cloud environments (Kubernetes, AWS).
• Strong systems thinking with attention to long-term architectural implications.
• Clear communicator comfortable breaking down complexity and collaborating closely.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems that are clean, testable, and efficient.
• Architect scalable APIs and infrastructure for high-trust, high-volume requirements.
• Bring strong opinions on testing, quality, and long-term maintainability.
