Worldwide Clinical Trials is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Legal to lead complex legal matters across a global CRO. You'll advise senior leadership, shape risk policy, and partner with cross‑functional teams to support growth while upholding compliance and ethical standards.

In collaboration with the General Counsel and senior leaders, you will drive strategic contracting, governance, and regulatory initiatives, ensuring scalable, high‑performing legal operations worldwide.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor with active license and good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
• 8–12+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, including significant in‑house CRO or life sciences leadership.
• Experience supporting complex clinical research services and sponsor contracting.
• Expertise in commercial contracting including MSAs, SOWs, CRAs, data protection agreements.
• Knowledge of global clinical regulations, GxP, data privacy and security obligations.
• Proven leadership in a global, matrixed organization with coaching and change management.
• Strong legal judgment, business acumen, and executive communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and familiarity with Microsoft 365, legal tech, automation, analytics, and responsible AI.

Responsibilities

• Advise the General Counsel and senior leadership on complex legal, regulatory, and reputational risk matters.
• Lead strategic legal subject‑matter areas and deliver practical guidance for global operations.
• Oversee drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex clinical research and sponsor agreements.
• Partner with various stakeholders to streamline contracting processes and accelerate performance.
• Collaborate with Quality, Privacy, Security, Regulatory, and Compliance teams on obligations.
• Support enterprise risk management, investigations, governance programs, and significant legal risks.
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other initiatives.
• Develop and mentor legal professionals to advance operational excellence.
