Job summary
Cognizant is seeking a Senior API Automation Engineer (AWS & AI Testing) to design scalable API automation solutions within the Quality Engineering team. You will collaborate with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to enable high-quality cloud-native software delivery.

Qualifications
- 10+ years in quality engineering or software testing.
- Strong hands-on API automation experience.
- Experience with Java-based frameworks (Rest Assured, TestNG, Maven, Postman).
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices testing, JSON/XML validation.
- Experience integrating tests with Git, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, Docker.
- Hands-on experience with AWS-based services: API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB.
- SQL/backend DB validation and end-to-end testing.
- Experience using AI agents in testing (GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Amazon Q).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable API automation frameworks.
- Automate REST API validation across integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for microservices.
- Apply AI agents and generative AI tools to support test generation and self-healing automation.
- Validate API contracts, schemas, OAuth and JWT authentication, and database integrations.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and AWS cloud-native applications.
