Job summary

Blackbaud is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support enterprise AI solutions and platform capabilities for scalable, secure AI at the company.

You will develop agentic and LLM-powered solutions, establish reusable patterns, guardrails, and operational practices, and partner with architecture and data teams to enable enterprise adoption with strong security and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building, delivering, and supporting production software.
• Hands-on experience delivering LLM-powered or generative AI solutions into production.
• Experience building agentic AI solutions with tool calling, RAG, orchestration, or autonomous execution.
• Experience implementing AI observability, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Strong enterprise security knowledge: authentication, authorization, least privilege, data protection.
• Experience with enterprise APIs, data sources, and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support production agentic and LLM-powered solutions.
• Build reusable AI platform services, patterns, guardrails, and reference implementations.
• Design security controls for AI agents, including identity and auditability.
• Implement AI observability for output quality, drift, latency, and cost.
• Optimize model selection, context management, and agent workflows.
• Apply software engineering practices: CI/CD, telemetry, secure development, production support.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Data Platform teams on scalable integration patterns.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate enterprise needs into AI capabilities.
• Mentor other engineers and foster a strong AI engineering culture.
