Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and build the AWS-native data foundation for enterprise AI apps, including knowledge graphs, semantic layers, and retrieval corpora. You will lead strategy and hands-on engineering, shaping patterns for access, curation, and extension of enterprise data.

Responsibilities cover knowledge graph design, graph provenance, and retrieval substrates with Python/SQL on AWS (Glue, Lambda, S3, OpenSearch, Neptune).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/STEM.
• 3+ years of data engineering experience.
• 5+ years hands-on data engineering with data models and semantic layers.
• Production knowledge graphs and ontologies experience.
• Strong AWS: CloudFormation/CDK, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, IAM, Bedrock.
• Strong Python and SQL across relational, graph, vector, and document stores.
• Experience with AI/ML or LLM systems and RAG pipelines.
• Experience integrating data access with identity/policy systems.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of knowledge graphs and ontologies powering AI reasoning.
• Align enterprise data into a coherent, queryable graph with provenance.
• Own retrieval substrate: graph queries, vector indexes, hybrid retrieval.
• Curate grounding corpora, eval datasets, and retrieval benchmarks.
• Build ingestion and transformation pipelines in Python/SQL on AWS (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Athena, OpenSearch, Neptune).
• Develop IaC in CloudFormation/CDK and enforce IAM, security, cost, observability.
• Collaborate with security, policy, and product teams; mentor engineers.
