Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior AI & Automation Engineer to shape AI-enabled solutions, modernize PHP/Laravel apps, and raise engineering standards for reliability and security. This remote role targets US-based candidates and emphasizes governance, secure delivery, and measurable business value.

You will partner with IT, security, and business stakeholders to identify practical AI use cases, build scalable platforms, and drive incident-ready automation across enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years in software, automation, or IT platform engineering.
• Proven ability to design, deliver, and operate secure solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience with web applications, APIs, integrations, and automations.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/OIDC, and secure application practices.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, operate, and improve AI-enabled solutions and custom applications.
• Administer enterprise AI platforms and define use cases and governance.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities for business value and compliance.
• Maintain and modernize existing PHP/Laravel applications.
• Develop secure and testable automations using various tools and languages.
• Automate Corporate IT processes in collaboration with security and IT support.
• Establish engineering standards for code management and incident response.
