Job summary

UNOPS is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor (Energy Transition) to lead technical positioning across the energy transition mission, coordinating with Partnerships colleagues and the Chief Climate Officer. The role supports translation of partner energy commitments into investable pipelines and strengthens mission readiness.

The role requires deep expertise in energy policy, renewable energy and grid modernization, plus experience in multi-stakeholder environments.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing technical advisory support on energy transition.
• Expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency, grid modernization, and energy policy.
• Experience conducting foresight and trend analysis, developing case studies, and extracting lessons learned in the energy sector.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder engagement and collaborative approaches to energy transition initiatives.
• Experience in multicultural environments and energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as UNOPS principal focal point and thought leader for assigned mission.
• Define UNOPS expertise within the assigned mission and develop materials.
• Provide technical input in high-level discussions with partners.
• Support translation of energy commitments into investable pipelines.
