Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is seeking an experienced actuary to manage the implementation, maintenance and critical review of models and systems using actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting and forecasting. You will develop complex models, train others and drive information delivery for decision making.

The role requires strong leadership, ASA/MAAA credentials, and at least 5 years in health actuarial work with 2+ years in a management capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• ASA and MAAA designation.
• At least 5 years actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• At least 2 years in a management/lead capacity.
• Verbal and written communications skills to prepare effective documentation, facilitate training and development, and participate in presentations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation, maintenance and review of actuarial models, studies and systems.
• Develop complex models and teach others how to develop models.
• Create written and oral presentations to drive decision making.
• Lead day-to-day projects that may involve non-actuarial departments and external parties.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of multiple actuarial areas and at least one business segment.
