Job summary

Bruce & Bruce Company is seeking a seasoned Senior Actuary to lead FIA product development and pricing for life and annuity solutions. You will guide pricing strategy, model development, and client-facing engagements in a growth-oriented consulting environment.

This role requires 10+ years actuarial experience, FSA preferred or ASA with FIA leadership, and deep knowledge of FIA mechanics, statutory and GAAP frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
• FSA preferred; ASA candidates with FIA pricing leadership considered.
• 10+ years actuarial experience in life insurance or annuities with pricing/product/valuation leadership.
• Deep FIA experience across product design, pricing, repricing, inforce analysis, and assumption setting.
• Strong FIA mechanics knowledge including credits, rider design, surrender charges, and profitability drivers.
• Familiarity with statutory, U.S. GAAP, LDTI, and actuarial governance frameworks.
• Experience with hedging concepts, option budgets, asset strategy, or FIA market risk preferred.
• Proficiency with actuarial modeling platforms (MG-ALFA, Prophet, AXIS).
• Excellent communication to translate actuarial insights into business recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing strategy and profitability analysis for new launches and FIA repricing initiatives.
• Own and enhance pricing and projection models supporting product design and valuation.
• Deliver insights on policyholder behavior, lapse trends, and credited rate strategy.
• Partner with Product, Compliance, and Legal for filings and governance.
• Collaborate with investment and hedging teams on budgets and asset strategy.
• Lead scenario testing and capital impact analyses under changing market conditions.
• Support reserve calculations and financial reporting under statutory, GAAP, and LDTI.
• Contribute to reinsurance strategy and capital efficiency initiatives.
• Monitor market, regulatory developments to inform strategy and client advice.
• Mentor junior staff and drive cross-functional initiatives.
