Job summary

Nationwide Financial is seeking a Senior Actuarial Consultant to join the Valuation team supporting the Group Benefits portfolio, with emphasis on Group Health and Employer Stop Loss valuation. You will analyze claims data, establish reserves, and communicate insights to leadership and cross-functional partners.

The role involves developing and refining projection, valuation, and financial reporting models, supporting statutory valuation activities, and assisting with pricing.

Qualifications

• Proven actuarial valuation and loss reserving experience.
• ASA or equivalent credential; pursuing FSA encouraged.
• Strong Excel proficiency; ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze claims data, establish reserves, and communicate conclusions to leadership.
• Build and maintain actuarial projection, valuation, and reporting models.
• Lead or contribute to cross-functional peer reviews and training materials.
• Support reinsurance analysis, pricing, and statutory valuation activities.
