Job summary

FOCUS Learning Corporation is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant/Controller to own day-to-day accounting, from bookkeeping and reconciliations to month-end close and audit support. This role pairs with finance leadership to provide insights that drive strategic decisions and requires taking ownership of our NetSuite ERP.

You will manage billing, AR, AP, payroll, and cash, ensure GAAP compliance, apply ASC 606 to SaaS subscriptions, and help scale internal controls as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public accounting and in-house at a small or mid-sized company.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and a track record of timely close.
• SaaS or subscription revenue experience and familiarity with ASC 606 is a strong plus.
• Willingness to work across the full finance function, from technical accounting to billing, collections, and AP.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, reconciliations and monthly/annual close.
• Manage NetSuite month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and schedules for CFO and leadership.
• Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition to SaaS subscriptions and multi-year contracts; maintain deferred revenue schedules.
• Maintain close calendar and shorten close timeline over time.
• Serve as in-house NetSuite expert for accounting, billing, AR, and reporting workflows.
