Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to manage accounting and planning preparation, support accounting functions, reconcile accounts, coordinate activities, and lead process improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, FCA, and internal standards, along with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FCA, and internal standards.
  • Verify, code, and input invoice data.
  • Perform accounts payable, receivable, and fixed assets duties.
  • Reconcile client cash accounts and monitor thresholds.
  • Maintain Board of Directors financial files and reportable income tax documents.
  • Assist in balancing systems and cash processes.
  • Research and escalate issues for resolution.
  • Prepare journal entries as needed.
  • Process accounts payable, receivable, fixed assets, and data entry.
  • Reconcile accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with clients and departments for issue resolution.
  • Prepare correction journal entries during reconciliation.
  • Handle complex accounting calculations.
  • Participate in team training and process documentation.
  • Coordinate with auditors and fulfill departmental requests.
  • Assist with ICFR controls related to user access, vendor maintenance, and AP reconciliation.
  • Monitor close cycle processing for AP and fixed assets, including income reporting and asset capitalization.
  • Participate in projects, test plans, and maintain procedures documentation.
  • Lead process improvements and act as SME when appropriate.
  • Communicate process changes to stakeholders.
  • Serve as liaison between Accounting and the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • 2+ years in large company environments
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-lookups, Macros)
  • Experience with general ledger, month-end, quarter-end reporting, 1099, and internal controls
Work Environment

This is a fully remote position with quarterly travel to St. Paul, paid for by the company. Local candidates will work at least one day a week in the office with paid parking. The role offers a long-term opportunity with a 10% performance bonus. Significant project work, including DNA implementation, is involved.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range is $36.00 - $40.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, hospital coverage, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, EAP, and PTO.
