Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Security Incident Response Engineer in the United States to fortify defenses using user and entity behavior analytics and endpoint hardening. You will build Stripe-specific signals, guide detection pipelines, and reduce uncertainty during incidents.

You will work with security engineering and data science teams across AMER time zones to analyze threats, improve detection capabilities, and drive prevention and postmortem improvements across Stripe networks and data.

Qualifications

• 3+ years analyzing large data sets to solve problems or building behavioral security models.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge of Python and SQL, with familiarity in other languages.
• Experience with log analysis, network security, forensics, and incident response investigations.
• Proficiency in developing and using analytical methods to automate detection and response.
• Ability to communicate results clearly and focus on impact.
• Creative, holistic thinking to reduce risk in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and investigate a broad range of threats on client devices.
• Develop requirements for detection models and enhancements to existing systems.
• Ingest and transform data from disparate sources into threat detection pipelines.
• Streamline incident response tooling and processes.
• Collaborate with security engineering and data science teams to build scalable analyses.
• Provide actionable insights to identify, prevent, detect, and respond to threats.
• Serve as SME and primary contact for stakeholders in Security Analytics and detection initiatives.
• Lead projects, mentor teammates, and drive quality standards.
