Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Security Engineer on the Cloud Security team to design, build, and operate the core security infrastructure used by all Stripe engineering teams. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure and product teams to strengthen security controls while maintaining a great user experience.

The role emphasizes threat modeling, cloud-native security in AWS/Azure/GCP, and scalable security tooling across a multi-cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-stakes production environment.
• Experience with security on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to work autonomously with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Stripe's core security infrastructure in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Uphold high engineering standards and ensure consistency across codebases and processes.
• Contribute to team learning by improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Design and build durable security solutions beyond current state of the art.
• Expand Stripe's cloud footprint with secure guardrails and guidance.
• Make impactful decisions about systems and security—edge cases, failure modes, and lifecycle management.
• Use data to set baselines for security measures and alerts.
• Define infrastructure that feeds signals to threat teams.
• Evaluate and prototype new security tools and practices.
