Job summary

MadCap Software, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Security Engineer for a fully remote role.

You will design, implement, and maintain security controls across SaaS, cloud, and enterprise environments and partner with IT, DevOps, and Development teams to strengthen security posture. You will manage vulnerability remediation across AWS, Azure, Windows, Linux, and network infrastructure, while supporting risk assessments, audits, and customer security questionnaires.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of vulnerability management, risk, incident response, access controls and governance.
• Professional security certification preferred (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CCSP, or equivalent).
• 5+ years in a Security Engineer or similar role.
• Experience securing SaaS platforms and cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, WAFs, and network security technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Defender, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar platforms.
• Scripting and automation with PowerShell, Python, or similar languages.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a multi-platform SIEM with runbooks and dashboards.
• Own the enterprise vulnerability management program across multiple platforms.
• Enforce Zero Trust security for remote workforce using Intune and CA.
• Implement and maintain SOAR playbooks and automate responses.
• Monitor alerts and lead investigations across security platforms.
• Secure Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, and Colocation environments.
• Identify and remediate security risks across SaaS, cloud, and on-premise.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and penetration testing activities.
