Children’s Mercy in Kansas City is hiring a Security Engineer to protect the network perimeter and secure highly sensitive data. You will configure, monitor and manage security tools, research new solutions, and ensure best practices with ISO 27001 compliance.

The role blends hands-on work with documentation and cross‑team collaboration. The position requires strong knowledge of risk analysis, network scanning, vulnerability assessments, and hands-on experience with security infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years experience.
• CISSP, Security+, ISSEP, CEH, CCNA preferred.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot security systems such as firewalls, routers, switches and IDS/IPS.
• Define base security standards for networks and systems and harden vulnerabilities.
• Research and test security tactics in labs and apply best practices in production.
• Analyze network traffic to guide defensive strategies and resolve security incidents.
• Deploy RBAC across devices and applications to enforce least-privilege access.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits with ISO 27001 awareness.
