Job summary

Corbalt is seeking a Security Engineer to build secure software, improve engineering platforms, and help teams deliver with confidence. You will collaborate with software engineers to embed security across the development lifecycle, automate security practices, and construct resilient cloud-native systems for critical government services.

The role requires hands-on engineering experience, knowledge of DevSecOps, and the ability to operate in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of engineering experience.
Experience with application security, DevSecOps, or cloud security.
Understanding of secure software design, authentication/authorization, and common vulnerabilities.
Familiarity with at least one programming language and one infrastructure-as-code language.
Strong communication and collaboration with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Integrate security into the software development lifecycle through automation, testing, and continuous improvement.
Identify, investigate, and remediate application and infrastructure vulnerabilities.
Develop tools and automation in Python, Go, or Terraform to improve security and developer productivity.
Support security assessments, compliance activities, and continuous monitoring.
Contribute to security best practices across engineering teams.
