Mercor is hiring a Security Engineer (Coding Agent Experience) for a remote contract role. You will use frontier AI coding agents to tackle security engineering tasks, review model-generated code for vulnerabilities, and identify flaws in architectures while working asynchronously to meet deadlines.

The role requires 2+ years in security engineering and experience across application, cloud, or infrastructure security, with regular use of major AI coding agents.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of professional security engineering experience.
• Experience with application security, cloud security, infrastructure security, or vulnerability management.
• Regular use of AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, or Gemini CLI.
• Ability to identify flaws in model-generated code and architectures.

Aufgaben

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex security engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated code and architectures for vulnerabilities and security risks.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and security-related failure modes.
• Compare outputs from multiple frontier models to assess strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic security engineering scenarios.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
