Job summary

Powerhouse Institute Inc. is seeking a Software Development Test Engineer (SDET) for fully remote work in the Washington DC / Baltimore MD metro area. The role requires strong automation expertise and collaboration with product teams to deliver high-quality software.

You will design and execute test plans, build and maintain automated frameworks, and use CI/CD tools to test web, API, and UI components. A background with NUnit/JUnit, C#, Python or Java and SQL Server is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of automated testing experience with multiple tools.
• 2+ years of programming experience.
• Proficiency in C#, Python or Java for test automation.
• Experience with NUnit/JUnit or other frameworks.
• Knowledge of version control and CI/CD processes.
• Understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
• Familiarity with SQL Server or RDBMS concepts.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute test plans, test data, and test cases for web, API, and UI testing.
• Use test automation to streamline activities across projects.
• Prepare testing artifacts such as RTMs and reports.
• Contribute to scalable automation frameworks and reusable components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Perform root-cause analysis and work with dev teams to reduce errors.
• Train SDET engineers on the framework and CI/CD integration.
