Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a full-time, remote role in the Veterans Affairs (VA) department. Strong programming in C#, .Net, Java, or Python and a history of delivering high-quality software are required.

Candidates should have manual and automated testing experience, Agile/Scrum familiarity, CI/CD exposure, and knowledge of test automation tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, and LoadRunner.

Formación

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Proven track record on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC understanding.
• Proficiency in writing/executing test cases, scripts, plans.
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks/tools (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
• Familiarity with Git/Subversion.
• Understanding of performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Knowledge of SQL and validating stored data.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, services.
• Understanding of security testing practices and tools.
• Experience with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, system, UAT).
• Excellent analytical/problem-solving, communication, collaboration.
• Mentoring junior testers and translating business requirements into test scenarios.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and procedures to meet requirements.
• Create test plans and schedules and define approaches.
• Write test cases/scripts and select data for scenarios.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to review test results and issues.
• Lead tests of software/IT systems ensuring proper operation and defect-free releases.
• Document/test results and communicate findings to management.
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems and improve procedures.
